As helmed by Maria Finitzo of Kartemquin Films (the company that produced the 1994 Hoop Dreams) the documentary Terra Incognita explores the complex ethos and heated debate surrounding stem cell research - issues that render it one of the most sensitive hot-button political issues of the early 21st century - by filtering the subject through the specific case of Allison Kessler, and thus. Terra Incognita: The Perils and Promise of Stem Cell Research, also known as Terra Incognita: Mapping Stem Cell Research, is a documentary film released by Kartemquin Films in 2007. The film follows Dr. Jack Kessler of Northwestern University in his search for a cure for spinal cord injuries using embryonic stem cells.

Stemcell fraud by 60 minutes sponsored by chemical company so 60 minutes is itself a fraud.

60 minutes. Sponsored by Lipitor lol. Philosophy is a good field for law: you should know. It might've never made it to begin with. Exactly HOW MANY animal diseases and HOW MANY paralyzed animals have been successfully treated with animal embryonic stem cells ? ZERO. Hey, as an MD I'm for it IF IT WORKS and if the parties involved DONATE THEIR OWN EMBRYOS out of CHOICE. Until then, YOU DO NOT OWN THESE EMBRYOS. The liberals will dangle this false carrot in front of you promising the cure for everything, when in actuality there is NOT 1 medically proven benefit from destroying embryos.

Ha! I finally learned nothing from a scishow video. First time for everything. This is an old video and stem cells work. This video is so long make a shoter version about fortnite. Wonderful! Thank you. Ahhhha listen at the ens sponsored by lipotor need I say more. Wow. You almost got me. I was about to look up that site, I typed it, I ALMOST hit enter. And then it hit me. Advertising at is best, ladies and gents. I'm learning it a couple months ago - I'm in 7th grade.

This didnt age well... Hmm hmm yeah hmm. Embryonic stem cell bans and human cloning restrictions need to be lifted. And I'll tell you why. KEY FACT: as mentioned in the video, and is not up for debate. Embryonic stem cells can be maintained indefinitely. (but wait... there's more) If you were allowed to clone one of your own stem cells (repairing/replacing/EXTENDING the initial cell's telomeres first. which we can know how cancer cells do it) or even clone any cell and coax it into reverting to a pluripotent stem cell (this coaxing has been done years ago in the lab) you could harvest the cloned blastocyst's embryonic stem cell line  and replicate it indefinitely. (And really, terminating your own clone would be what anti-human-cloning authorities would want to do ANYWAYS.) THEN, with this (for all intents and purposes IMMORTAL) embryonic stem cell line of your own DNA (but with extended telomeres. decreased senescence) you could start incorporating them back into your own body. Then over time (remember 10 days for the tongue? 300-500 for your liver& kidney? your body would naturally replace your own cells with fresh telomere cells, and so. extend your own life. Of course, since your new cells would be from your own clone. then you yourself would eventually be your own clone. but your consciousness would still be YOU so no harm no foul. The cool (or scary, depending on how it would/could be used. kinda like atomic science) is that when you have the single cell to create your new line, that would be the IDEAL point to tweak a gene here or there. (Think Gattaca, but fixing your own ladder. D ) Don't like your eye-color? Want to rid yourself of predisposition to disease?Tweak the known gene responsible for it to change it (after the new line is incorporated.  Of course, you'd have to acknowledge that any changes you make could have unforeseen and severe consequences elsewhere. (Remember the fictional Stargate Asgard. yeah. keep backups preserved. Yes, I know I glossed over the nit and gritty details, but this is YouTube. or. G. anyways, the technical details are not totally necessary here, just the fact that it WOULD be plausible if it weren't for the restrictions, is the point...

GZAaaaaaa. My science teacher sent me to this video and I'm glad she did. This video sickens me i suffered a massive stroke 12 years ago and imjust looking to regain not only my life back but a normalcy agaIN AND its a shame their are people out there claiming and giving false hope to people with diseases and injuries. My daughter walked for the first time 3 weeks after stem cell transplant in Germany check my videos you will see her walking for the very first time and in the stem cell hospital.

I can't even finish watching this. I hope he gets what's coming to him. DUMB SHIT. ITS GOD'S WILL? LOL. THAN I GUESS IT WAS GODS WILL THAT YOUR KIDS IS SICK AND DYING. THE RELIGIOUS ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN THE NON RELIGIOUS. BOTH LACK COMMON SENSE AND MORALS.
